MacBook Pro core 2 duo – under the radar

Apple just released the new MacBook Pros with Core 2 Duo. A month after all the PC vendors and claims their machines are 39% faster than the last generation.

Since the update seems to only affect the MacBook Pro, this may finally be Apple’s effort to better differentiate it from the MacBook.

Pricing starts at $1999 (similar to the pre Core 2 Duo version) but 1 Gig of ram is standard as is 120 gig hard drive (nice). All models have double-layer SuperDrive and ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 video card.

I’ll go out on a limb here and suggest that WOW will play quite smoothly on these babies.
